Firefox or IE?
Does WBs work well with Firefox?
Friday, January 16, 2009 by granbjd22 | Discussion: WindowBlinds
I'm debating if I should switch to Firefox and get rid of the SLOW IE. But will Window Blinds work as good with it??? Need some honest feedback. thank you.

WHile it works with it.. some scenarios will be disappointing using FF \ WB but it is really FF's fault.

I came to a similiar conclusion sometime ago, maybe for different reasons. I find the security settings of IE to be more robust than other browsers. As far as slowness, don't be to quick to blame the browser. Some sites are just really slow and with the uploading of ads and flash content can be even slower.
Did you have other complaints?

I agree...but I've tested one and the other immediately following eachother...Opera is faster...and when 10 comes out, it'll be even faster. To each his/her own, and that's a good thing! ![]()

I don't upload, except for screenshots, so if that makes a difference, I don't know - but I prefer FF3, I don't use IE browser at all. Firefox is soooo user friendly, and I like all the add-ons and themes it has. There is an extension called IE Tab that enables the IE engine, works perfectly. I haven't tried Opera yet though.

I use IE7 only these days. Tried IE8 but had too many problems since not all sites including WC are set to work with 8. Besides, I'm obcessive/compulsive with overtones of scitsophranisa and sociopathic bi-polar disorder syndrome disease. So if you make me change something I'll hurt you if I'm manic or cry about it if I'm down, and I won't care because one of the guys in my head says it's alright.
Just kidding you know.........right?![]()

Firefox for me all the way. Ie7 crashes too much.
I've used firefox for several years with no complaints.

I use IE7 and it's not slow at all. I guess it depends on your ISP.

ie7 is ok...but I keep thinking, "There's something like Chrome in here."
I just really like Opera...I suppose it's like skins...a matter of taste.

I use IE8, but it doesn't matter. FF will work as will other browers. Try them out and use the one that you feel works best on your computer. There are variables that may cause browsers to work differently. You will still need IE on your system, in fact I don't think you can get it off, could be wrong about that.
Bottom line is use the software that works for you, even if it is not the most popular or todays choicel Just my opinion.

I used to swear by IE... Then a buddy talked me into trying FF --- I'll never look back.

One thing I've noticed with FF is that the text is always black, no matter what you make it in Windowblinds. So some skins might not display correctly on it if they have black buttons, you might not be able to read the text.

Works well with FF3 and with Opera 9.62. Both are faster than ie.
I get faster rendering with Opera.
HOWEVER: If you want to upload skins, etc. use i.e. and Flash 9.
