Subscriber skins: the forgotten promise or put on the back burner.

Well, first I would like to ask is “What the deal is about the subscriptions.” , and I don't want to seem likely some stickler for facts, but I was under the impression that Stardock wanted to increase the price of the subscription and to justify this with us (the subscribers) was to offer 12 free skins per year. Now I'm not one to complain but it seems to me that someone either forgot or maybe they are just really behind. We haven't seen a subscriber skin since October. And on top of all that we have only received five (5) skins. (For those that don’t know) The first four (4) skins don’t count because those were offered way before. What's going on? Again, I’m not one to complain but while I’m here I might as well. And with that said, someone needs to talk to the guys doing the subscriber skins and tell them to make the things more useful. The Halloween skin is useful for a short time once per year (unless you are a really morbid person and kind of enjoy that stuff on a regular basis) and the Rockstar and Golf skins look lame if you don’t purchase the icon packages for them because there aren’t any icons packages to fit them (IMHO). That really only leaves two (2) decent skins to use. Anyways, I just wanted to get that off my chest and wonder if anyone else feels the same. Not wanting to piss anyone off, I'm just curious about this and no one has brought it up

We are getting caught up with WC Subscribers skins. Look for a new one very soon and we already have others ready and slated for release.

Thanks ID, really appreciate the quick response. I have been a subscriber/member for really long time now and I have seen some changes. Some good and some not so good, just didn't want this to fall under the not so good.

I agree....I would like to see good, solid, usable skins....with wider ranging appeal....in preference to festive/seasonal..sport ones etc....that only appeal to a certain section of the membership....for example...Halloween..purely an American festivity....

As much as I love what Stardock has done, they REALLY need to get things straight between marketing and development. There has been (and probably still are) lots of promises made on updates/releases that has not been realised and also poorly updated/plain incorrect information on the numerous different places where info on software is available...
It's a mess to know where to get stuff, and no obvious way to find info except to ask... I mean, not counting impulse, it's like 3 (maybe 4 or 5?) different locations/websites to get upgrades for single software -> OD, another for OD -> OD Ultimate, a third to get discounted mycolors themes as a subscriber, the stardock premium theme site, wincustomize.... The list goes on 
There are something like 4 sites for every piece of software included in the OD suite?
It's crazy really.

Discounts and upgrades are something that is scheduled to be included in Impulse in future updates. Something like WinCustomize though is an entire separate thing, so things like Master skins and discounts here will remain the same, at least for the time being.

I'm still hoping to see some useability with the skins. This last skin Aero Frost is the first skin to actually have some common use. Great skin and I hope see some more with the same sence of use.

How about Aero MidNight? It's not a Subscriber skin but it was a free theme with icons in Theme Manager 3.

Aero Midnight is for Object Desktop subscribers.
We already have a few skins just about ready for release as WC subscriber skins.

I'd still love to know what ever happened to this skin. It was shown as a possible/pending release...but then it disappeared.

now i wasnt a subscriber until a few days ago but i have been a member of this community sice i believe 05' ... i have always seen taht these guys do the best they can and im sure you will get the skins you were promised...i dont believe they make money from lieing and have stayed in buisness for this longh doing so....so be patienet and im sure you'll get whats promised....at the end of your subscription if you havent recieved what youi were promised then im sure you could write stardock sales and explain and they will gladly help you out
