Per Pixel Frame Animation

Saturday, January 10, 2009 by voidcore | Discussion: Skinning

How do you do it?

Have all frames both in horz and vert tga's 29 frames all in all... even have NWA vert and horz... cant get it to work..

And found a bug while trying to get it to work... in the extra tab put frame count to 0 and SKS crashes... good thing i saved my stuff

Any help appreciated! or point me in the right direction... search turns up nothing for me...

Make sure your frame count is set to 29.

Under the Extras tab, dont forget to set your animation rate, and set your windowframe count there as well.

I used png's converted to tga for the images (for the Agua blind), and you have to make the animation frames for all the window parts, top, bottom and sides, all with the same frame count.

Didnt animate the sides.. probably the problem i thought you didnt need to animate the whole window just the part you wished....

Ill try iy out now!

well im still having problems

I get the animation to loop correctly and it uses the last frame for the inactive window titlebar and dont animate that.

But i get this glitch where it puts another of the blinds pics in the middle of the titlebar (dead center about 10-20px wide, it varies if i up or down the frame count) and it loops that picture from left to right also....

I now have 20 frames on all sides up,down,left,right... if i put 19 in the image count and 20 in tab-->EXTRA this glitch goes away on the inactive titlebar but not the active titlebar. if i put 20 count 20 frames i get the glitch on both active and inactive.

glitch

Tried unloading WB and load it again didnt help....

anyone seen this and does anyone know a solution?!?

Solved! looking at perpixel frames in the uis file it seems sks had added a glyph(?!?) which wasnt visible in sks glyph tab... but anyway deleted the entry and all is well

Looks like your having fun with it, one word about frame animation, imo.. might should try to keep it from being overdone, hard to work with windows that are obtrusive in their animation.

Cylcops by Mikeb is a great example of one which was well done.

Good luck
