How are you feeling?

Thursday, January 1, 2009 by angus1949 | Discussion: Community

So, it's New Year's Day, in the western hemisphere anyway.  You Aussies always get things first.  Just wanted to see how everyone is feeling the morning after.  Did you party?  Did you stay home?  Hungover?  What's up for today?  Sports, sleep or family get togethers.

I hope everyone was safe last night.

Still some lingering after effects of the flu bug, feelin a whole lot better then I was few days ago.  No party, stayed at home, didn't drink because of mediacation.  More movies, some nap time and fix a nice dinner.

Funny how turning 60 takes the fun right out of your life.

A little hung over with snow to remove from my driveway.

Sorry you're not up to snuff John.  From all of the posts I've read it looks like it's made it's way around the world.  There's rumor that Starker's infected everyone.

Ten months to go for me until I hit sixty.  Each one is a victory anymore.

My wife and I did a nice dinner, watched the new X-Files movie and watched neighbors shoot off fireworks at midnight.  Midnight?  What am I a teenager again?

No grog NYE so no hangover NYD.

'Twas a quiet night at home spent mostly on my PC editing videos... though I cast my eye over to the TV at midnight and tjought 'what a freakin' waste' as millions of bucks in fireworks went up in smoke.  In these hard economic times its friggin' lunacy and an extravegance the World can do without.  A spectacle, yes... but sheer stupidity at best.

You won't be confused when you start hacking up furballs ... licking parts hitherto unlicked and get the sudden urge to chase mice.

If I could have done that 40 years ago I'd have saved 2 houses , four vehicles and a lot of bad feelings.  No wonder my dog's so damned happy all the time.

angus, dogs are almost always happy. It's their nature. Cats can do the same thing, and how many of them do you see happy?? Not many, unless they are torments us lesser mortals. But that is a whole nuther issue.

You Aussies always get things first. Just wanted to see how everyone is feeling the morning after.

I came down with the flu Xmas Eve....so my 'Yule Tide' was pretty much crap, really.  Then I had the inconsiderate demands of quasi-clients [not mine - one of my builders'] PRESUMING I'd pull my finger out just for him to work over the alleged 'break' ... [the 'break' which was already fully committed to house-painting....so the extension that has been in 'the works' since 1987 might actually one day be finished].

Did I get 'pissed' on the Eve?....yes....to aid in forgetting that I was already pissed [off].

Still....Jan 1/2/3 so far has seen me on the pointy end of a paint roller ....and the 4th will be similar.

Oh....I also fell over a day or two after Boxing Day.....[dizziness/imbalance due to the Flu]....and now have an impressive trophy of a bruise on my left hip....but at least now I'm not limping.

What keeps me 'sane' is the gleefull knowledge that no matter how stressed or stupid I can feel...there will be a BIGGER IDIOT eventually posting on Wincustomize.com lamenting how his Warez Copy of Windowblinds has f***ed his system totally and he has lost all his work/etc ....and I smile wryly as he is banished to extinction.

All in all....Life Is Good....
