OK, so it's a quote from 'Airplane' [aka 'Flying High' in Oz]..... but Chrissie-eve I decided around 9pm or so to 'get' the flu.
Dashed good timing, wot?
Just when there was a chance of a few [read 4/5] days of doing sweet F. A. other than watching the Aussies thrash the South Africans in the cricket [even that ain't going to plan] instead I feel like shit warmed up.
To cap it off I have drawings to finish....and an addition to paint and with the SD Office all out playing snowballs somewhere I'm trying to remain semi-conscious to deal with spammers and such here....
I DID work out, however that sinus tablets are best inserted otically rather than swallowed.
It's a bugger of a cough, though....but the fever's bearable....but my teeth ache.
What's the bet my clients don't care.....
What's the bet I won't care if their dwgs are late....

Or maybe its the effect of all that sheep dip? I would have thought that stuff would keep your sinuses clear, however...
First India gave them a pasting, now a real towsing from the Saffie tail enders. 180 9th wicket partnership, whatever next. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of blokes.
Off to NZ next - my money's on the Kiwis 
Shortly I will be putting my feet up to enjoy the highlights... (it's on in the middle of the night here)

Very sorry about the flu Jafo, it can spoil any holiday, but at Christmas, man what a bummer.....but as for the cricket...GO SOUTH AFRICA GO, KICK THEIR BUTTS EVERY WHICH WAY.....right!! now I have that out of my system, I feel much better, what about you jafo Ha Ha Ha...get well soon my friend

Damn you Jafo... I must've caught it from your post in "What Did YOU Get For Xmas"...
Obviously, you didn't wash your hands after blowing your nose and transferred it from the Kleenex to the keyboard. 
Well I did... up until you gave it to me... now I don't give a toss. 
Seriously, it's a right royal bastard, the flu... and in the middle of Summer, too. 
I have all the classic symptoms except the real high fever.... and I ache from head to toe as it's playing havoc with the arthritis.
Oh well, here's hoping I get better real soon... you too, Jafo.

If you catch the Flu and the diagnosis is clear, Tamiflu can really help.....of course it isn't curried cabbage, but...

And curried cabbage sure clears the sinuses... it might'nt exactly be fresh air, but I can breathe again.

Feel better mate. One thing that seems to help the cough is Tessalon Perles (Benzonatate)...one every 8 hours and swallow (don't suck or chew it). Lidocaine nebulizer treatments help too.
Other meds have been found to be effective w/o "Zonk" factor: Ibuprofen, Naproxen...
Maybe a Flu shot next year?
Oh yeah....trying to get things done well when you're bunged up won't be rewarded....just prolongs getting well. Sorry.
Then again there's always Chicken soup.
