Wanted a nooky... but got a cookie... spent the rest of the day being sooky.

Nah, I got a couple of pairs of board shorts and some singlet tops Xmas morning... but got a 32" LCD HD TV to replace a HRT widescreen beast, and a portable air con unit for my study a couple of weeks back.  Couldn't wait for the air-con, not with temps reaching into the mid to high 30's outside... and into the lowish 40's in my study due to poor air circulation and the sun blazing in all day.   No insulation in the roof, either, but I complained to the property agents, showed them how damned hot it got in here, and it's being remedied early Jan 09... plus the main air-con (slpit cycle) will be upgraded with another unit in here, meaning the portable can go into the bedroom not already covered.

Mrs starkers got a Compaq laptop with 15" screen; Intel 2.66ghz  dual core CPU; 2 gigs of Ram; 160 gig HDD and Vista Home Premium. plus a Sony Cybershot 10 megapixel/12x zoom digital camera with some accessories and 4 gig memory card.. oh and a new surge protector for her PC, etc.

For Xmas I got to reformat my laptop cause the Mrs picked up a nasty on it.

Ah, now that's where I was smart... I showed mrs starkers where all the 'safe' porn sites are to avoid that situation.

Ooops!  How naughty of me... assuming that Mrs NT goes to porn sites like that.

*starkers gives himself a clip around the ear for putting his foot in it*

My wife had to reformat her pc a couple of days ago because our daughter got one. We think it was out of Russia, it wanted her to buy anti-virus protection.

I got Photo Shop and a subscription to WinCustomize.

I got the joy of seeing what all my friends got (see above), and went to see "The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons". Absolutely wonderful movie...I highly recommend it to all.

Also, saw "Australia" last week. Got panned by the critics, but what do they know? I tried to imagine starkers, TG and all the great Ozzies I've met here lurking around the sets, but couldn't get a glimpse of them....more's the pity.

I'm so glad you guys have gotten such great gifts. Karen, you're right about the Facepage comment...after all, that is a great feeling that will return at odd moments to help.

jmurph1... That's something you'll treasure forever...

Merry Xmas, NT .... dunno if I got to say it to you on time...but Merry Xmas anyway.

DPCloud.... you're a good guy...and that was a funny one!   Gives a whole new meaning to "From Russia With Love".

I.D. will probably live to regret posting that picture with skinhit and Po' lurking about.

What did I get yesterday? A headache, that's what I got...

I invited a friend over for dinner. She likes to talk... four hours non stop without coming up for breath. The names 'motor mouth' or 'rattle gob' wouldn't do her justice.

The phrase 'did my head in' became a reality for me.

This year's theme was kitchen goodness:

  • 10 Piece Wustof Knife Set w/Block
  • Cuisinart Hand Blender
  • Wine Decanter

Parents managed to find a Wii Fit to go with the Wii they bought when I was visiting over Thanksgiving.  I want a Wii Fit now.

And to think I'd just given the lad karma. Better I should have given him strappy stilettoes.

Check this out Fuzzy:

Talking about Nothing

Mrs. Mary Caterham (GB) and Mrs. Marjorie Steele (GB) sat in a kitchen in Blackburn, Lancs. and talked about nothing whatsoever for four and a half months from 1st May to 7th August 1978, pausing only for coffee, cakes and toilet visits. Throughout the whole time, no information was exchanged and neither woman gained any new knowledge whatsoever. The outdoor record for talking about nothing is held by Mrs. Vera Etherington (GB) and her neighbour Mrs. Dolly Booth (GB) of Ipswich, who between 11th November 1983 and 12th January 1984 chuntered on over their fence in an unelightening dialogue lasting almost 62 days until Mrs.Booth remembered she'd left the bath running.

Single Breath Sentence

An Oxfordshire woman today became the first ever to break the thirty minute barrier for talking without drawing breath. Mrs.Mavis Sommers,48, of Cowley, smashed the previous record of 23 minutes when she excitedly reported an argument she'd had in the butchers to her neighbour. She ranted on for a staggering 32 minutes and 12 seconds without pausing for air, before going blue and collapsing in a heap on the ground. She was taken to Radcliffe Infirmary in a wheelbarrow but was released later after check-ups. At the peak of her mammoth motormouth marathon, she achieved an unbelievable 680 words per minute, repeating the main points of the story an amazing 114 times whilst her neighbour, Mrs. Dolly Knowles, nodded and tutted. The last third of the sentence was delivered in a barely audible croak, the last two minutes being mouthed only, accompanied by vigorous jesticulations and indignant spasms.

Oh yeah....try this next time before she comes over:
