XP lovers...this is good news, albeit limited, for you!

Merry Christmas/ Happy Hanukka to you from Microsoft.

I think they'd better do great things with Windows 7, though!

Well, I guess it's like a discontinued car line with a manufacturer who's interested in selling the newer model, TG.

The problem's gonna be when you run into a really knotty problem and can't find yrag! LOL.

In fact, the problem might generate a whole industry of code writers producing patches for newer software.

Who knows. Anyway, just wanted to update folks with this article because of prior posts on this subject.

I once said I'd never upgrade to win98 from 95, then I said I'd NEVER have XP, in fact, XP came with my last PC, and I paid an extra few hundred to DOWNGRADE to 98 [weird.. this Country is so fubared, or maybe it's just me.. meh ] and now I say NEVER to Vista.. see.. the thought of a format, and a new OS makes me want to huddle in a corner and rock back and forth like someone awaiting shock therapy..

XP had/has it's warts too: Think about all the patches/SP1,2,3.

It boils down to how long you'll be able to work with XP and when you'll invest in a new machine...and it's specs.

Don't "rock" the boat in the meantime!

XP is fine for me, I don't need anything else.. ahh.. now I see, they're gonna make games that don't run in XP and FORCE me to upgrade.. the bastards

Thats been said for every OS thats come down the line.  I never wanted to change from 3.1 but did to 95. I stayed with 95 through 98 and upgraded to ME.  God, what a mistake that was so when XP came out I went for it.  Loved it but if ya remember right all this crap about Vista was said for XP.  Oh no sp1 is coming.  Oh know sp2, I'll never get it.  Sp3, hum.  XP went through some upgrades.  Shame they are comming out with a new OS so soon.  Oh well, the skinners might have to upgrade depending on the changes.

I know WOM, but it would be nice if an OS [and a Playstation too now that I think about it] would remain current for a few years before an upgrade, what is this!?!?!!!? disposable software? hehe

It's not the OS changes that bite, it's the hardware to keep up with at least a mid-level system spec..  Then add the cost of the new OS.  A lot of us just can't swin upstream this fast.

It could be worse. At least every different computer model doesn't have it's own OS. Like they do with cell phones!

Yeah true, I was a phone freak, but it got too much, nothing seems to be backwards compatible
