A Holiday Wish

The greatest gift one can give is to give of ones self. There is no better way to give of yourself than to teach. To share your wisdom and experience in a way that makes the world a better place.
Happy Holiday to all..

Hey Doc, I had to count the candles to make sure you had the right amount. You do, and now I am crosseyed from it. Guess I should wear my glasses...lol Is there special meaning behind the colors, or is that waht you had on hand. The curious wnat to know.

Butch, have a Happy holiday to you as well. I may be turning to all of you when/if I get the nerve up to try something more challenging than wall papers and Logons...

<==== Immy trying to count the candles!

Immy, there's no special meaning...in fact not even my laptop...Many folks try to use blue and white to signify the colors of the Israeli flag, but the only rules are they should be in a straight line, none of the candles signifying the days any higher than the others and that the flames be distinct and not merging. The other candle is called the "Shamash" and it is used to light the others but does not count as a 'day' candle.

Here's a short poem by Hanah Senesh...a female Israeli Paratrooper killed in WWII trying to save Hungarian Jews from the Evil One:

Blessed is the match consumed in kindling flame.
Blessed is the flame that burns in the secret fastness of the heart.
Blessed is the heart with strength to stop its beating for honor's sake.
Blessed is the match consumed in kindling flame.

I always try to say a prayer for her  remembrance on the first day of Hanukkah.
