Promotion.
Friday, December 12, 2008 by DaveBax | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I was promoted to Apprentice (2) on Monday for which I feel honored. Monday evening I uploaded a screensaver. It went through fine but haven’t heard anything. I have commented several times on peoples sites. The comment shows after I post it but than when I return it’s not there. Even when it first posts it list me as Citizen. My win site still lists me as Citizen. Is this common and how long does it actually take for the promotion to take place? Even if it lists me as Citizen I would like to be able to comment on the nice work I see. Thank you.

It does now. I know it didn't say that a few minutes ago. I will try and post some comments again and see if they stay there. Didn't know it would get this bad for me getting so old. Thanks.

Still shows me as a Citizen when I log on and same in the post. Also the post don't stay after I make them. That's ok, will give it a few days and see what happens.

The only advice ( ) I can give you is to log out of the site completely, delete all cookies, then log back in.

I have done all of the above. Even tried 3 different browers.

You show as apprentice when I click on your name in forum and also your WC personal site shows apprentice. Usually when this happens to me I log out and use CCleaner to clear out cookies and temp files then if you use Firefox you can clear the browser cache...reboot then log back in. It must be a cookie issue as we all see you as Apprentice. Also, it won't show in all places unless you go change your ' Honorific ' yourself. Go to your seettings - account tab - then using the slider change your Honorific to Apprentice or what ever you prefer. You can find CCleaner at this website : www.CCleaner.com

Thank you Fairyy. I didn't know about the Honorific change. The only thing I have to figure out now is what might be wrong with my uploads. Everything goes through fine. Even though I know my upload is good I don't get any email response back. Maybe it's a Stardock problem.

Your Welcome - I was thinking is was just a cache problem but then I remembered the Honorific. I don't use one but it dawned on me that could be why your still seeing ' Citizen ' Everyone is Citizen by default. You have to change it yourself. I'm still waiting for a proper Honorific. Maybe when they add " Your Highness " ( I'll settle for " Princess " ) to the Honorific list I might consider a name change - until then ..its Fairyy with a squiggle.( Wink wink )

Don't delete the cookies! Send them to me....especially if they're chocolate chip or oatmeal raisin!

Silly me if I am overstating the obvious, but as far as the honorific goes, I remember on my first promotion, I had to go and change my honorific myself. Just a thought.
