What file type are you opening?  wba works fine on my visat rig.

Can you post your WB system info?

funnily enough the .wba file extension is the file format that windowblinds uses. Are you talking about visual styles or windowblinds styles?

My vista installs .wba files automatically to the correct directory, I also save a copy of the file using right click save as.

Maybe you need to reset the association.

You sure 'bout that?  I think you need to rethink what you are talking about.

As previously suggested - Open the WindowBlinds Configuration screen and click on "System info" then click the "Copy text" button. Paste that info here.

Uh....right.That would effectively eleminate WindowBlinds as a skinning option.

To use a .wba file you need WindowBlinds. Like any file extension, you need the correct software to open it.Might as well ban all software.I think perhaps you have the wrong idea about Stardock software.IconPackager,WB's,DesktopX,SoundPackager,etc. all need the associated software to use them, thus we have ObjectDesktop.

Can't you hit Save and then double-click the saved file?

That looks like a browser problem.  save it and then double-click it.

So what file type do you suggest?  .wba is the file extension for WindowBlinds.  Am I missing something here?!

i know no one can change the format based on one person's lack of ability to open certain files here..wba and dockzip files are a problem for me. ill try out the WB trial software and see if i want to continue using it. cheers all

You do own Windowblinds right?  or are you trying to use the file as a MSStyle?  The WBA files work when you open them using a program called Windowblinds which can be found on Object Desktop, which is a set of applications from Stardock....

.wba is a .zip renamed to .wba and WindowBlinds is the only program that know what to do with it when it unzips it. it you want to try it on your own, just rename the extension to .zip and have at it

but lately almost every WB theme i come across, is a WBA file

Every Windowblinds file you come across SHOULD be a 'wba' file.... just as every MS Word document file SHOULD be a 'doc' file.

'wba' is the file suffix to denote a Stardock Windowblinds archive.  IF you have Windowblinds installed in any MS operating system post Win95 inclusive 'wba' will be recognized.   That clearly will include Vista [and anything beyond/yet to be released].

If your system does not recognize a 'wba' file it is most likely that you do NOT have Windowblinds [the program] installed or installed correctly.
