Glaucoma and you

I found out yesterday I have it....the 40+ years of smoking did not help any. The thing is, have your eyes checked at least once a year, even if you do not need glasses, and you are not *old*.
I am now on eye drops in the a.m. and the evening.....in a month or two I will have laser surgery to open a hole someplace in my eyes for drainage. I have what is called "closed angle glaucoma". WEll enough about me!!
Ok, now get out there and get your eyes checked everyone!!!!!

Too late I already said one and I certainly hope I didn’t make you feel self conscience by using a larger font, to me it’s just as easy to use a large font as the tiny one most forums seem to favor. I was born with a detached retina in one eye and have astigmatism in the other so it doesn’t hurt my feelings a bit when people go with the larger ones.

As of December 1, 2008, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that state's medical marijuana laws are not preempted by federal law.
If the DEA wants to continue raiding dispensaries/co-ops, and destroying the lives of medical marijuana patients in states where medical marijuana is legal, they're going to have to do it without the assistance of the local law enforcement community. My guess is they're not going to want to do that, from my viewing of YouTube videos of prior DEA dispensary busts. I would think with this recent ruling, the local law enforcement personnel may be called on the fact that they should be busting the DEA for violating state law.

hmm iam 44. and ive not had my eyes checked in over 3 years..i recently let go of my health insurance for eye coverage because of the high cost..im cutting back. i used to go to lenscrafters here in california. the comprehensive exam now costs 80 dollars. i should go soon

More likely an Optomotrist, not an Ophthalmologist....there is a rather large difference. Still, if your needs are basic, then that should be adequate. If you do however, need medical treatment, only an Ophthalmologist is licensed to do that.

Very pleased to meet you Don, and thank you.....but I know I will be fine...almost everyone I know has some big problem they are dealing with, be it health or other things....and mine is so small compared to theirs...but I appreciate the prayers!!
