Slicing my startmenu
slices aren't matching up
Tuesday, November 4, 2008 by BoOo86 | Discussion: Skinning
I finally finished my startmenu after 3months of working on it (my first time). I am using SKS Pro to do so, I am using the template that is on the offical SKS tut. website, and it shows only Five slices. But in SKS when Im adding my slices it will only allow me to make the slices only so big. It also has more parts. It looks like Im editing an Xp start menu. Is there a different Skin Studio I should be using? Or does anyone have a different temp that I should be using to do my slicing?? Im sure all my questions are getting old, but Im just not catching on.... Thanks BoOo

The other parts are used for the start menu (like the item mouseover) but arent really part of the start menu (am I making sense?). Get your start menu pieces in there correctly first and the rest you can worry about once your done with that.
If you get stuck or have any more questions, just ask!

those 5 are basically the background of your start menu - everything else goes on top of it

Your graphics don't have to be a certain size. Are you using SKS6? If you are, after importing your parts, you need to go to the 'extras' tab and tell SKS what the width and height of each piece. Things should line up nicely if you cut your pieces correctly.
