The Winstep Start Menu Organizer is a FREE application designed to help you organize and clean your Windows Start Menu.

Over time, as more and more applications get installed, the Start Menu can get so cluttered that you end up spending a lot of time simply trying to find the program you want to run. you certainly do not need an application to do this! Let alone have to pay for something which will allow you to have more than 10 custom categories. Right Click on All Programs on your start menu. Either Open or Explore, create your folders and move the shortcuts accordingly. I suppose that if you can't handle doing something like that then this may be a helpful app for you.

The 10 default categories in the free version should be enough for 99% of the cases. Of course you can do the same manually by dragging shortcuts and folders around under Explorer, but you have to know what you are doing, where the two Start Menu folders are, how to synchronize changes between the All Users and Current User folders that share the same name, etc, etc... Not everybody knows that or wants to be bothered doing this every time they install a couple of programs. This is a nice and very useful utility that allows you to do this with minimum effort and time on your part. It's quick and it just works.
