Ok, truth be told, I feel like I am way in over my head. These are just two evils that shouldn't be where they are. McCain/Palin  and Obama/Biden are slinging mud left and right. It's not even clean mud, but the crap from under a leaky toxic waste drum. It is killing us, slowly, but it is killing us. I have decided that I can't vote for either of them, and that Nader is looking better all the time. This seriously makes my stomach churn.

I honestly feel that the right person for Presidency is the one who doesn't want it. No sane person would want that. Why do you think Washington got the job. He didn't run for office, he was put there, by the people, because they felt he was the best man for it. He resisted it, argued against it, but eventually accepted it, because he was truely wanted. Too bad we just don't have a way of picking out someone who stands out because he/she has integrety, morals, is honest to a tee, and truly does not want the job. Maybe then, something will get done, changes made, and our country back on track.

In the same sense that Michael Moore provides 'information'.  Yep, we should definitely blame McCain & Palin for those ambush videos.

ID, i'd be willing to bet my next decade's worth of earnings that 95% of the "governments" on earth would rather see obama as our next president. and no, i do not consider hamas as a government even though the bush adminstration pushed for the "election" that put hamas in power. and i couldn't care less what bill ayres (may be spelled incorrectly) did or said. he and obama served on teh same board of a non-profit organization funded by a wealthy republican ex-diplomat appointed by reagan. also on that board were several republicans. if any of those republicans had run for public office, would they be accused of being supported by terrorists today? i highly doubt it. as for why would someone who openly hates America, who actually tried to bomb it, back Obama? i don't know. why would someone who thoroughly despises the policies of the republican party help raise funds and vote for the republican mayor of my hometown like i did? who ayres supports for pres has zilch, zero, nada, the big 0 to do with anything to do with this election. the man has but ONE vote! has ayres publicly announced an endorsement for a candidate? if ayres endorses mccacin, would you vote for obama?

hannity had some idiotic jackass on his program who spout off numerous relationships connecting obama to terrorists and radical left-wing associations recently. every single one of that fool's declarations had been proven wrong beforehand by numerous organizations but yet hannity found it fit to allow the jackass to keep talking and actually agreed with numerous things being said. now, you tell me who is biased in the media! granted, oberman on msnbc is a enthusiastic supporter of obama who disses mccain and palin nighty. he shows where mccacin has flip-flopped on numerous personal beliefs within the last 2 years and where mccain and his campaign have flat out lied about democrats. the thing is, he has video proof to back up his claims. he may be biased but he backs it up. isn't it funny how mccain can trash obama for saying something today and mccain said virtually the same thing a few years ago?

so, you're saying this Khalid Al-Mansour guy helping obama get into harvard is any worse than mccain's dad getting him into annapolis? at least obama made the grades! the same can't be said about mccain. how obama got into harvard's law school or mccain got into the naval academy has nothing to do with the issues. you guys are complaining about so-called relationships with Ayres and Khalid Al-Mansour when bush and cheney have done more to undermine the constitution and our personal rights and freedoms than any adminstration in history? come on! none of the so-called relationships "reported" by the media and right-wing bloggers have ever been proven to be anything more than what obama says they are.

terrorists? karl rove and his cronies can be called terrorists for the organized efforts four years ago to intimidate voters from highly democratic voting districts in ohio in order to keep them from voting. blocking their access to the polls, telling them the polls were closed, or telling them they had to vote elsewhere are forms of intimidation. it's possible that if those voters hadn't been intimidated, kerry would be our pres now. attempting to deny a person his/her right to vote is domestic terrorism, regardless of how you look at it.

want to talk about funding? money from kenya, huh? isn't that where his father was born? if it isn't legal, the money shoudl be returned or donated to a charity. if it isn't legal, get rid of it. there hasn't been a national election in years that both candidates didn't have shady funding/donations, mccain included?

i, too, can go on and on regarding shady dealings and associations of mccain's both before his elction to congress and after. i'm sure i can list far more things about mccain which have been proven than you can about obama. and to think until 5 1/2 years ago, i actually respected the man!

i wonder how many wars we'll be in by the end of 2009 if mccain gets elected.

When you vote for somebody don't ask yourself "Well... what is everyone else going to think of this guy?", I don't know about you but when I go to vote for someone my general though process has something along the lines of WHO DO I LIKE BEST? Head for head, people outside of the US likely know more about the US pres elections than the US public knows about other countries' elections.

People outside of the US generally see the US as 'a power unto themselves' and no different to any other 'big brother'.

If you lot elect a war-mongering idiot of whatever political bent it all means the same to outsiders.....someone is going to get hurt and die..... and somewhere down the road there will be political justification for the dead.

You are in for a rude awakening if you really do believe that. First off, Every politician lies and is corrupt. So that's two right off the bat. Second off he may not be a terrorist of sorts, but you generally find out about a persons true personality by the people they associate themselves with. His wife is racist, listen to her publically speak and you'll notice as she isn't as good as Barrack is at hiding it. He also has acquaintances such a Ayres who are known terrorists which not only endorsed him as a senator but he stood IN HIS HOUSE when announcing he'd be running for President. I don't care what kind of excuse you can come up with about his affiliation with Ayres, of all the places to be when making such a big announcement he chose his house? That should be a clear indicator of his true personality. I haven't even started on many of the other things, like his racist church to which he's been a loyal member of for 20 years.

While you may think McCain is an evil tempermental twit, and he is, but to me he is clearly the better choice. Can't say I like the real personality of this Obamination.

Comparing McCain to Hitler is a little extreme, no? And I honestly don't think we should care what other countries think. I've seen postings on other forums to the extent where someone from the UK would say "So yeah, we like Obama, take the hint", to which I replied telling him where to shove his opinions.  I hate it when people do that kind of crap, telling me who to vote for simply because you favor someone.

I also say we stay the hell out of other countries business, we have our own problems to deal with.

Technically not just Bush/McCain, try congress. I'm pretty sure they have a little TINY bit to do with that. I hate how everyone points the finger at Bush when yeah he was part of it, but it's not like a majority of our govt. didn't approve of his plan.

Congress is Democratically controlled, so why haven't they pulled the funding for the Iraq war? Simple. If they had pulled the funding when they gained control of congress we would have had to pull out before the elections had started and everyone would see what big of a mess it would be once we left, leaving the Democrats looking stupid for wanting to do this. Look at what happened when we left Vietnam for example, people where slaughtered. The same would happen in Iraq. The Democrats want to wait until they have Obama in office, then they will cut off the funding and we'll leave Iraq and that big fat finger will be pointed at Bush and his supporters.

You can tell the election's getting close.  More & more foaming at the mouth every day here.

I just find it saddening that people actually believe Obamation's story of sunshine, hope and of course "change". A word of advice, just because its "Change" doesn't mean it's for the better. I also got a kick out of these:

I didn't post it because I thought it was legit, re-read what I had said.

My only problem here steve- is that you seem to have been brainwashed by the insanity that the right-wing has spoonfeed to people. Facts speak for themselves. You keep going back the Ayers thing but honestly that was 40 yrs ago and (in your own words now) "Nothing you can do about the past". Ayers did his time, he is now a respected member of society and a professor in a University that does work for the betterment of the community.

We could go back and forth, tit-for-tat and my only problem will be the same... the blinders are on... if anyone believes that McCain is a 'better' person than Obama they are mistaken. Both are politicians, there are going to be associations and things that the other side are going to drag out, exploit and make it seem 20x worse then it actually is.

As an example... currently McCain (and now even his own wife) are saying that Obama voted against funding for the troops. He did so because the bill did not include any sort of mention of a withdraw plan. The SAME bill went back through (with a withdraw plan this time) and McCain voted against it because of the withdraw plan. Mind you this was the same bill with the same troop funding, doesn't this mean that McCain also voted against troop funding? To go even further on McCains 'stance' on support for the troops and veterans consider the recently released IAVA (Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America) Action Fund's annual 'report card'. In it, this nonprofit non-partisan group of veterans who 'grade' congress members on their votes and the support they give veterans... McCain's Grade, Obama's Grade and Biden's Grade

This is just one example of 'real facts' on 'real issues' speaking louder than anything.

I agree with the above poster, neither of these two is the right man for the job.  It's the same nonsense every election, two canidates campaigning on change. What a bunch of BS. There is nothing substantial in the debates, neither wants to risk losing votes by taking an unpopular stance. The problems we face today are going to require unpopular measures. Both parties have put us well on the path to socialism, and farther from our personal freedoms.  Anyone that points the finger at the other party is blinded by their own bias. 

Wake up, look around at what this country has become. We are drowning in debt and everybody would rather find a scapegoat than figure out a real way to get out of this mess. Our children and grandchildren will pay dearly for this mess. 

Its time people hold their elected officials responsible for what they do in DC. We need to pay attention to what happens there more often than when an election rolls around. Vote smart, make sure you know who and what policies you are voting for and don't let the propaganda on any TV add persuade you.
