Startmenu Helper File Problems

Monday, October 6, 2008 by DickBurns | Discussion: ObjectDock

First time I click the start menu button it works fine, second time I click it, it shows the start menu for a second and closes it, then a "startmenu helper file was injected but failed to take effect" error comes up. It shows the error any time after the first try.

Im running Object Dock 1.9 Plus on Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit (SP1 if that makes a difference).

Any help/info is appreciated, thanks.

This is a current and known error that is being worked on for the 2.0 version. However you can try updating to the current beta of Object Dock Plus through Impulse. The error is tracked to that version as well but some customers have claimed sucess from doing so.

Any idea when 2.0 will come out? I downloaded Impulse but pretty much forgot all my info I registered with for ObjectDock so I didnt bother with it that much.

Sorry there is no set date for 2.0. I have made a few annoucements about the under going development but no firm time line or date is possible at this time. As it narrows I will be happy to up date the comunity further.

In the meantime you can use the docklet startmenu made by Andreas Verhoeven. There are other docklets that also do the same, but Andreas' works best for me.
