May he rest in peace. The last year was rough on him. He is in a much better place now.

Yup, Paul Newman certainly was among the best of actors and a very decent human being... condolences to his family and friends.

What a fine man, and actor. As George Clooney said, "He set the bar too high as an actor and as a man."

Apart from being a great actor, Paul Newman was one of the most generous people on the planet.
Much of the profits from his food business went to deserving charities.
Rest In Peace, Paul.

I agree totally, Erk. He personified Ghandi's famous statement, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
We're all poorer for his loss. It's also true that this past year had been very difficult for him.
Imagine a 51 year marriage in Hollywood.... That is something (I believe) all should emulate.
This is an all around terrible loss.

So sad to hear this news, my favorite movie of his was Cool Hand Luke, "sure do have a cool hand there Luke" and then he eats 52 hard boiled eggs,

Mine is "The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean"... Paul Newman is brilliant as the eccentric judge....
... another fav is "The Secret War of Harry Frigg"... in which he played an troublesome army private, promoted to 5 star general to break 5 goldbricking generals out of an Italian POW camp, which was run more like a 5 star hotel than a prison camp.
In both movies, Newman shows his roguishly comedic sides... in a way only he could.
RIP Paul Newman, you're a true legend.

My heart broke a little when I heard the news. It's a blessing the Paul is no longer suffering. I also wish to extend my condolences to his wife, Joanne Woodward and the rest of the Newman family. We are all just a little bit better for having Mr. Newman on this earth. God Bless.
