I would like to see Fences.exe respond to command line parameters, then it could easily be activated from a shortcut on the desktop, or more easily integrated within right click, objectbar whatever.

Wish list:

Fences wrangles shortcuts/icons.  I wish Fences wrangled windows.  My desktop usually has 3 explorer windows open (pointing to 3 file/folder locations) and an IRC client.  This is before I start running apps like office, Firefox, etc.

I would like to be able to min/max/move/resize opened windows like the Explorer and IRC client windows - but bounded by the Fences panels I would setup to contain each of those apps/windows.

Make that three.

Icon spacing is the same as the desktop. Decrease their  decrese in fences also.

I had mail waiting for me for 5 days from stardock to start testing fences : )

What i wish is that fences is separated from sistem,which meens that the icon size can be adjusted from fences also icon spacing,to be more customizable,maybe with some hovering efects especilly for xp users like me who have these ugly icon lebels.

Here's my current wishlist after tinkering a bit.

The basic ones:

• Ability to place icons on any place within a fence, rather than just next to the existing ones. (the way the regular desktop behaves)
• Move the snapshots feature to its own tab in the edit window, and merge the two tools pages into one for better availability. (it's ofcourse just my opinion) ... btw, my snapshots only show my desktop wallpaper, and not the layout of icons... doesn't feel right to me

The trickier ones:

• Ability to open folders within a fence, making it work like a *very* basic directory explorer. It should automatically revert to the regular dekstoplevel after a configurable time (like 20 seconds) and ofcourse include a small back button. - Why? I'll give you an example. Imagine a fence for a basic website directory structure. Rather than having to open up an explorer window, I could quickly browse to some image in a subfolder, and launch an editing software without having to clutter up my desktop with unnecessary windows.... It could also be used for quick shortcuts in subfolders. Would be smooth and awesome

There are tons more I'd want, but I'll try to stick to the reasonable and generally useful things for the time being.

mickeko - are you using XP or Vista? If Vista, is UAC enabled? Using DeskScapes or DreamScene? Playing a video dream? Just takin some stabs... snapshots should definitely show the icons on them as well!

Currently I don't forsee having Fences allow for no-alignment (e.g. free-floating icons within them) primarilly as I don't have horizontal scrolling available at this time. perhaps at some point

I do hope to have Fences be able to show folders on the desktop... imagine right-mouse-button-dragging a folder, and when you drop it, it creates itself as a fence on your desktop. (The first time you do it it'd show a menu and one of the options would be "create fence for this folder", and if you selected it it would ask "do this every time?"). Anyhow, this would be available on Vista only (not XP) due to tech limitations, but you could even have folders that show in details-view/etc   Interesting suggestion though, regarding "open folder IN the current fence"... i'll have to think about that one! noted.

Ability to change the font of either all labels or individual labels.

Using Vista x64, UAC enabled, DeskScapes running a dynamic dream.

I believe skinability will be added once the basic features are implemented and work well. It's the impression I've gotten when reading posts here anyway.

My only issue is the screenshots lacking everything except the desktop background. (stars dream by neil). It's still there after tons of restarts.

Just tested with a static wallpaper, and icons are present on the snapshot. Guess I'll just have to disable animated wallpaper if I want to see what my snapshots look like.

Great App! It's sylish and useful. 

The only two suggestions are:

1. Multiple monitor support. Give a setting to choose which monitor you want it to display on. yesterday I god fences stuck on Monitor 2 with no way to change it

2. Individual styalizing by fence (e.g. individual control over color, trans and hue)

I like it! Here are my wishes:

1) Autohide fence/fences after opening folders/icons

2) Open folders/icons just by clicking them (not double-clicking)

3) Double-click different areas to show/hide different fences

4) Customize each individual fence (different fences with different colors, etc.)
