I need a little help from the community.
Media File Formats.
Friday, September 19, 2008 by Vad_M | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Hi Friends,
I work on a new powerful Media Player right now. And I need the detailed information about popular media file formats (audio, video) that you use on your computers to complete the Integrated Media Library for this project. So please give me a list of extensions for media files you have in your libraries (like mp3, avi, ogg, flac, m4a, etc...)
This will much help me to make very useful Media Player for you.
Thank for you attention.

Big thanks for the first replies!
I'm not assured that this Player may replace iTunes for you. It just more informative than habitual Windows Media Player and can work with *.PLS playlists. And may be it looks a bit better and uses less system resources (like CPU). No more than this. I just try to make it more useful (as much as this possible) for each person who want to download and use it.
Now I'll go to learn what formats can play iTunes...
Are you keeping your music in a *.wav format? Hmmm... Seems this type of files is not friendly for tagging. What about information tags?

Thank you but I don't need the whole list of all media formats. I just need to know WHAT THE TYPE OF MEDIA FILES ARE USUALLY USED BY WC PEOPLE IN THEIR MEDIA LIBRARIES.

I'm glad I could help Vad_M. I am hoping that others who read this, especially those who have music and/or video libraries, will be willing to take a look at their own PCs and add to this short list the file formats they have.

I am using iTunes. How can I use this instead of the boring iTunes player? Thanks.
