If you aren't going to buy the skin, why should they have to put it on their own site? Why can't they put it here, THE PLACE TO GET WINDOWBLINDS, and you just not buy it from here?
So pretend like there isn't any such thing and don't buy the Master Skins. There, problem solved. Next.

There are a few threads about this, and no it will not change. It is a reward for those who have reached Master status to be able to sell skins at WC.

Most of the content on the site is NOT created by Stardock. It's created by individuals who in most cases are "donating" their time and talents.
I look at it as an incentive to make new Windowblinds. To become a Master a Skinner has to prove himself/herself and to do that he has to release his work into the libraries....which provides you with free content. Having done that for a while (long while) he then has the opportunity to "sell" his time much as anyone else sells their time. I'm not aware of any Master that does not occasionally provide free blinds as well. In fact some have never charged for their work, but I believe they should be able to.

jim mackie ...I guess the best way to counter that statement is to say that all the skins that 'were' posted ARE still free.
Since the intrroduction of the 'Master skin' opportunity/feature there have been new skins which have been offered for a fee but that bears no impact on what was offered/expected freely other than to reward/encourage the Master skinners to continue to contribute their talents and expertise, something arguably a positive for all....![]()

I have downloaded a lot of free skins. I also have downloaded some master skins. The way I see it is, that if someone has put forth the effort to become a Master, then he should be able to make some profit for his learned skill and for his time.
If I didn't want to buy a skin, I didn't. Period.

If you go to a job everyday and get a paycheck you get paid for your services and are for all intents and purposes consider a professional. Why is it not ok for people of another profession or someone represented as an expert to get a paycheck. Hmmmmm, I don't understand that thinking. RAD

As you have not lost out from the services you agreed to when you subscribed, I don't see that there is a significant issue.
It's good to have feedback though.
