ObjectDock + Dell Dock
Thursday, September 11, 2008 by kfc469 | Discussion: Skinning
Does anyone know if there has been a skin made for ObjectDock Plus that makes it look just like the Dell Dock? I really really like the simplicity and look of it, but I can't get it since I dont have a Dell.
Heres what it looks like for those of you who dont know:

Well, first of all, the grouping thing isn't possible with OD+
Secondly, you can get something similar through tabs or the grid feature of the Stacks Docklet
For the skin, I haven't really seen something look exactly like that but if you talk to a certain monkey or browse through his gallery, you might get some similar skins, because I've seen a lotta metallic stuff like that.
Sorry to be not of much help though. I've got meself a Dell, but it ain't runnin' the Dell Dock because I'm an XP junkie meself

I downloaded Rocket Dock with the stacks docklet and I guess its just going to have to be good enough. It doesn't look quite the same, but I guess I'll just have to deal with it unless someone wants to volunteer to make a skin for me (hint hint )
thanks for all the help

WHY??!! Stacks Docklet works with OD Plus! I use it and so do tons others.

I believe so. I'm not positive though, since I don't have the free version. If the free version supports docklets, then I don't see why it wouldn't. Anyone want to weigh in...?
Take a look at this thread, there may be somebody in there using it on free version, and there is a link to it if you want to try it yourself. Best thing I can think of is to nav to your OD folder and see if it has a folder named Docklets in it. If so, you should be able to use it.

Yes, the stacks docklet works with the free version. My home desktop runs OD free, and I use the stacks docklet without a hitch.

That was your first mistake...
I would be a liar if I told you I never tried RocketDock. However, it only took me about 3 minutes of using it to realize how vastly superior OD is!
This was, of course, before I became the dock freak that I am!

I know people are skinning Dell Dock, but I don't know of anyone who's skinned OD to look like a Dell Dock. You might ask some of the OD dock skinners if they'd make you one...
