Docklets not movable

Docklets will not stay in pace when dragged to a new position

Tuesday, August 5, 2008 by Yakker | Discussion: ObjectDock

I have the most current release of OD+ installed and it works great, except for the occasional "I need to close..." issue.  However, the big pain in the bottom is when I drag a docklet to a new position, it just slides back to where it previously was.  I've went through the setting about a bazillion times looking for something that might either trigger this, or fix it....but no joy.

Anyone have a clue on this?

thanks.

Does this happen with other icons [shortcuts] or only docklets?
Keep in mind that not everything on the dock is a docklet. Many people confuse normal shortcuts as being included in docklets too.

On a standard (non-tabbed) dock... right click dock and make sure "Lock Dragging" is not checked.
On Tabbed docks... right click dock > View > "Lock Icon Dragging"

Thanks for the reply. This happens with everything in Objectdock. I can drag any object on the dock. When I drag it to a new position, it shows in the correct place but the other docklets don't open for it and when I release the mouse key, it slides back to its previous position. Then it launches the docklet underneath my mouse cursor. This only happens on one of my laptops..the others work normally...

Any suggestions??

Yep, good point. But that option is not checked and the docklet does indeed get dragged to a new position. The catch is when I release the mouse key, it just slides back to where it was before...maybe it doesn't like the neighborhood there...

thanks.

Crazy as it may sound... try toggling the Lock Dragging option on and off.

Is this on a multi-monitor system? I've been having problems with this as well as not seeing separator images when the dock is not on my primary display. If I put the dock on the primary display everything works.

I found the issue for this on my system. If the dock is on a secondary monitor and the displays are not aligned on the screen tops then the docklets are not draggable. I changed the alignment of my monitors and all is good ( and the seperators showed up as well )

I have lock dragging off and I can't move any docklets or shortcuts at all...
