frame question

when I make a frame, I make the whole frame. when a frame is maximized we lose the left/right/bottom portions. I heard that it is a glitch. is SD aware of this, can it be coded into WB to add frame size when maximized and/or can anything even be done???

okay, not a glitch, how about something that occurs that would be nice if it could be fixed. can it be fixed?

Not a glitch, this is the way per pixel frames work.

Nothing is broken. That is how the window frames work. If you really need to have the frames exposed when maximized then don't make frames for the per pixel section. You can then adjust how much of the window frame is showing when maximized. You will only be able to use magic pink for transparency.

Or better yet, make them for blinds you upload, for those of us who want them, then for yourself, since you need to make non per pixel frames as well for MDI windows or those still using WB4 or those whose graphics cards don't support PP frames: open WB config, System Info tab, check never use per pixel borders. This is also the perfect way to test the non per pixel frames when making a skin.

I understand that you all are telling me that that is the way that it works. but a choice of using per pixel or not using it to overcome what one is attempting to do is not the answer. is it possible to code in pixel width/height for the frames to show when the window is maximized. if it can be done then why not make the effort. has there been an attempt to make this happen.
I mean c'mon, do you both know for a fact that it can't be done. I have worked around "things" in SS only to find out there was another way to do it. I just think it would be great if an attempt to make it happen occurred rather than assuming that this is the way it is just because.

The point of maximizing a window is to show maximum windows content, I would think. Showing the sides and bottoms would reduce that.

well, when said like that I guess this reverts to a "yo duh" perspective. Still it would be nice to have the option somehow.

Wimpy, I know that when PP frames first became part of WB that Neil Banfield (lead developer of WB ) said this is how they work and that it would most likely never change.
