Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, John Fogerty, Joe Cocker, Jack Johnson, Joe Jackson, Keith Urban, Kid Rock, John Hiatt, Alan Jackson, Robert Plant & Alison Kraus, and John Mellencamp (today) have all released great albums within the last few months. Yeah, I know I'm old.

Some good artists there. Haven't checked out new music in awhile. I'll have to remember to look for some of them.

Uh oh, a bunch of people who sound like they're over 25 talking about music, can't stay away - hopefully I'm not the only guy who has a turntable and a bunch of ancient LP's?

i have an old AR turntable that is so manual that in order to change the spped, i have to remove the platter and move the belt from one pulley to another on the spindle. i still have a few MicroAccoustic cartridges i bought 25 years ago or thereabout when they went out of business.

Nothing really sounds like vinyl does it? I'll have to admit that I've picked up CD's and mp3's to get cleaned up versions of some of the old severely re-trenched albums that were played for awhile with a brick-for-a-cartridge turntable, but even then I've still got the old plastic around.
Also glad to see that some reputable folks are selling decent bitrate drm-free mp3's these days, great way to fill in some of those holes. Not going to turn this into spam, but when I found out about it I had to fight hard not to be a kid-in-a-candy-store.
I had to (well, not "had to") shop for a new turntable a few years ago, thought for awhile there just wasn't anything between bottom-end and top-end, but after looking fairly hard I was glad to see that there are still at least some still being made in the middle. Had to look a little harder to find a cartridge/stylus that's primary function wasn't to be dragged back and forth around the album
