I don't know about you all, but when an app or utility takes 47% or your CPU, I call that a CPU PIG! How can Stardock say with a straight face "new life to the desktop without slowing you down".. Come on! Do you think we're all idiots? BTW, My PC has 3 g of ram, dual processor, and is about a month old.

What dream are you running? Ones that are made from WMV videos use a bit more CPU than ones created from MPEG videos. Have you tried the dynamic dreams such as the Water dream and do they use less CPU?
There are other variables that will also effect CPU useage. Frame rate, bit rate, and resolution of a video dream will be a factor.
Your MPEG 2 codec, the video card that you are running, amount of on board video memory and type, and drivers themself will also play a part of how much CPU is used. Is your video integrated into your mother board or is it a stand alone card?
If you can supply us with more of your system specs perhaps we can help you lower the useage.

Exactly as the 2 posts above state. Dream's vary in performance due to your machines/drivers abilities as well as video compression, size,etc. my 2 mo laptop runs most drems quite well and have rarely seen many get over 20% usage. so im more thinking it may be driver/codec related. try the post above's link for further information.

It probably isn't a Ram issue but a Video Card issue. Is this a built in video card? Do you have more then 256 mb of ram on the video card?

How do you disable Dreamscape without going to ALT-CTRL-DELETE?
I have tried to get it to PAUSE, but it just starts back up again.
I have tried to get it to run a regular Windows background, but after hitting the OK button, it just seems to hang - the window won't ever go away. It seems Dreamscape takes TOTAL control to the exclusion of all else.
This seemed nice at first (having Dreamscapes) but after I paid the money it doesn't work too well. Hogs up huge Mb of memory.
