Laptop Skinning

The total solution

Wednesday, June 25, 2008 by liquidguru | Discussion: Skinning

I live on a small island in the middle of the South China Sea. Not much to do except enjoy all the beauty and dive (I'm a Dive Resort Manager/Dive Instructor).

When I need a little R&R from all this nature I go to Singapore to visit friends. Singapore is a very modern city and I get my technology fix. On my last trip I found this guy who makes Laptop Skins, either from his stock designs, or you can design your own, as I did. As a long-time user of WB, how could I resist?

These are the results, and I must say I'm really please

This is the back of the cover. The skins are removable if you get bored of it.

Anyone else done this? If so, please share your designs....

That looks really cool.

I actually got a laptop skin from decalgirl.com, but I never put it on. Mainly because I couldn't do it myself and I then decided I'd rather have my own custom one. Just haven't gotten around to deciding on a design.

that is sooo cool!!! definitely something to consider!! especially since my lappy is always on my coffeetable.. would be neat to have it blend in with the rest of the living room!

Your laptop is blocking the view of your office.  Please remove it and repost the photo  .

Nice skin!

it's a rough life, that's for sure. it's a shame somebody should be living such a rough life.

It's an island called Tioman, off the coast of Malaysia.

The worst thing about this life (I've been doing it for 10 years now), is that I usually work 7 or 8 days on, 1 day off for 10 months at a time, 8am till 10pm....

The best things are I love being underwater and I love Monday mornings. Usually our busiest time of the week is the weekend. Nothing beats having just a couple of divers on a wonderfully sunny Monday morning, going for a dive and thinking 'ahhhh...it's Monday morning, and I'm at work.....'

If you want to see a little of what it is like here, try this link. It's what I've been seeing for the last 18 months or so. If you dive, basj, this is where I work

This is a wonderful post:
A really new topic, no gripes nor snipes, no flaming (and tons of H2O to put it out!), a bunch of happy people enjoying a great life choice.
I'd love to see more underwater walls on the site...less 'techiness' which is OK, but MAN!
Those blue seas and sublime tranquility are truly welcome.
Thanks, liquidguru!

Thanks for understanding Dr J0622

Here's another photo of something unusual I saw today, a nudibranch, about 7cm long, called a 'Dusky Nembrotha'

Just to return to the topic for a while....has no one in this diverse skinning community skinned their hardware? I would have thought a few might have...

You're welcome, liquidguru....I wasn't aware one could do that with the hardware...never occurred to me (duh!)...I think your laptop looks truly cool!
I've seen some weird desktop skinning/tower replacement, but never a laptop. I do like it, though!
