MCE Skinning

Monday, June 16, 2008 by Wc Wraith | Discussion: Skinning

Does stardock plan to make an app for skinning vista mce or does anyone know of one? I have seen screenshots of media center FX but their site is down so I'm not very optimistic.

As far as I know it should not matter what version of Windows Vista you are using, the skins would be the same. The Media Center program that will run on Vista is just that, a program like Windows XP MCE, it is not a separate GUI to be skinned at all.

Well it isn't a seperate gui but it does have individual art for all the different components. I have seen screen shots of themes people have done but they require patching the mce files directly. There was a skinning program I saw for mce 2005 but that doesnt help much for vista.
