"The Karma system is designed to be a reward system to users by other users for being a helpful/nice/pleasing member of the community. It isn't a status thing but more of a 'thanks' thing. I'm going to talk with Zoomba when he gets back amount making a new forum rule against Karma Begging. I feel it defeats the purpose of the system."
Seems that both the 'begging' and the 'giving' have strayed from the original intent.

I've posted a number of places where *I* think the system could be improved to give it purpose and prevent abuse . . . I can only wait and hope.
As far as my points go . . other than the humor and the thanks n the comments, it matters not to me. A few, a thousand, a negative . . I'd still do the same thing in teh forums I always do.
I think too many people are reading too much into karma

Karma is a force of life. You do good, promote & intend good, you usually get good back & then some.
If you do the opposite, you'll get the opposite. Karma itself doesn't bring out the worst in people, karma is the manifestation of life based on what people bring out of themselves.
Seriously, I think we're all getting worked up over a non-issue. An on-line karma points system.
People are asking how to get karma points on this site, simple answer, do unto others what you would want done to you. Hang out in the forums when you can, if you see a chance to answer someone's question or assist in another way, go for it, that's good karma, points or no points and if you get karma points for your user account, great!!! But if you don't, no worries, feel good because you've helped someone - that's what is important and that good feeling you get... that's karma. 1 point or 10000 points, it's all good!

I know karma will be used to purchasing stuff. So are we seeing a test of the Stardock purchasing system at work or lets say testing 123...?
Very interesting and like wow! That or maybe we are just raising the bar a bit?
But I think if anyone was gona get that much juice it would be Brad CEO. Zubaz has to be testing a new thing for passing karma on and such the like. Who knows maybe we can give someone what we already have to get them a sub or something they may need? Hum...
Whatever it could be pretty cool to just think what we could do for others with all that karma floating around.

I'm not really sure where that all came from... Karma is definately not going to be used to purchase anything. It's just for there.

I mean no disrespect to anyone, please let me know what you think, understand I meant no harm to anyone, even those that in the end were rude to me, and even disrespected me.
Please let me know if my feelings are unwarranted, the original article was meant to be in good taste, and I'm sorry that it offended a few of you.
