Where's the line . .
. . between fan and fanatic
Thursday, April 24, 2008 by ZubaZ | Discussion: Community
Well . . I might have mroe than one.
Last week though, I had an earring custom made. It could be worse . . it could have been a tattoo. It's a nice earring. I've had five others with different designs made. This one . . . is different.
My wife pointed out to me that I was wearing a (sorta) matching shirt. She pointed out that in certain circles (mostly the ones she hangs out in) I might be considered a "dork". She may be right.
I may have crossed the line from fan to fanatic (and perhaps broaching fanboi) and it has me scared.
So . . my questions to you, my friends:
- Do I have a problem?
- If yes, should I try to do anything about it?
- If yes, what should I do?
- Can you think of a funny caption for this photo?

1. you should get a better piece of jewelry...ie the design is godie looking!
2. the shirt is ok...but you could do better - I seem to see this same design alot!
Be more independant and get something made which is more you and not something you just bought on the net.
3. fans or fanatic is a term usually associated with people willing to go all the way... are you really? Then get your car painted to advertise the such also! and lets see it here!
That should help in your search to become a better fan! Good luck..!
As for being a dork? Who cares what you are or look like - long as you do the fan thing your cool...

Kitty,
Felix was our high school mascot 40 years ago. So NOW he's cool?
Zubaz,
Dork is only a state of mind. Think you are and you will be. I'm 59, sick and look like crap but I feel great inside. Wear what suites you...screw the world!
Did I mis-spell anything?

SGT: the shirt . . is a classic of sorts (although Felix does look good)
Angus: I obviously don't mind being TOO dorky. As a dad of young (and older) kids . . it's one of the joys of the job.

no matter what you do, you will ALWAYS look dorky to your children. you can't escape that.
glad to see you haven't gone the route of plugs.. that Would look silly.though the size of that earring , makes it look like a plug, or worse like a woman's earring that you stole from wife's jewelry box.
last of all, Who cares if you look different? different is original, and hell that's what skinning is all about. you wanna skin yourself with logos, go for it! Wife will be embarrassed but she loves you and will suffer with dignity.
