I can't stand sony because of the entire rootkit episode, their strong arm lawsuit frenzy and now this. I was absolutely disgusted that BlueRay won out over HD-DVD because it gives sony a leg up in the financial department. I avoid sony products wherever possible now.

Same here! Only have one Sony product now... a portable CD/radio/cassette from about 10 years ago. It's still working fine, and as much as I dislike Sony, I'm not going to throw it out and cost myself money replacing it with another brand.
However, when it does give up the ghost, I will take great delight in taking a hammer to it... maybe even posting it back to 'em in pieces to show my disgust for their business practices.
