Tibet and China

Will you join in a petition

Friday, March 21, 2008 by BigDogBigFeet | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hi everyone.  Will you consider sending an electronic petition to China's government in support of free speech, political freedom of choice, and self directed autonomy for the indigenous people of the Tibetan Plateau.  Your support and help will be appreciated. Again the link.  http://www.avaaz.org/en/tibet_end_the_violence/98.php/?cl_tf_sign=1 "> http://www.avaaz.org/en/tibet_end_the_violence/98.php/?cl_tf_sign=1

Done, but this is gonna play out real nasty the next couple of months. The pen isn't mightier than the sword in this case.  (

Ah...an exercise in futility....

Jafo 'met' the Dalai Lama ....well 'met' isn't quite right....he was waiting in the lift lobby as Terry and I were leaving the restaurant.....she thought they were two women in colourful evening gowns...at least I figured they were monks....then I did a double-take...looking around over my shoulder...thought it was him...and there he was looking back at me smiling [probably thinking 'no, Terry...we are men in dresses...'].

I hadn't expected it to be him as his bodyguard were very good at remaining understated - I didn't even connect them with him at the time...

It's better to do what one can, I think. You never know.

Signed. The Dalai Lama, I'm impressed Jafo. He's probably the closest to a truly pious man any of us could ever meet. I must disagree though about futility. Nothing is futile. Cancer taught me that.

Thanks angus. Anyone else? I'm hoping people won't let them down.
