XP themes on Vista. What happens?

Hey,
As the title suggests, what happens if you apply a WB theme made for XP to Vista? Does it not work at all? Does it mess up the start menu, etc, and if so, is it permanent? Some of the themes out there are really awesome, but they were made a while ago for XP and i'm running Vista. I'd try it myself but I figured i'd rather not mess something up if someone knows the answer already instead. Thanks for the help!
