Office 2007

Any way to make WindowBlinds skin it?

Tuesday, March 18, 2008 by coult69 | Discussion: WindowBlinds

I have been using WindowBlinds 6 for awhile now and just recently updated on XP to Office 2007.

I must say it is pretty disappointing that any of the skins I use now don't skin Office 2007, and Office also doesn't behave like other windows where I can't roll the windows up like others.

It has pretty much destroyed the usefulness of windowblinds when the apps I have open most of the time (Outlook, Word, etc.) look nothing like the other skinable apps, and my work process (rolling windows up and down) is messed with too.

I know this is all MS and not Stardock, but I am considering not using windowblinds moving forward until someone comes up with a way to skin Office 2007 simply for consistency sake.

Thoughts? Opionions? Work arounds?

It's not Windowblinds' fault, Office has its own skinning engine. Not sure if it can be worked around.

As far as I can find, it doesn't. The Outlook buttons/dropdowns are skinned, but nothing else.

As a reply to the O.P., there are a lot of skins where having Office 2k7 in Silver/Black doesn't detract from the consistency of the skin too much.

It's a distraction in Dragon, for example, but not with Leo and Office set to Silver.
