another little problem

Tuesday, March 4, 2008 by Vampothika | Discussion: Skinning

this problem  is hard to explain and i am not able to take a screen shot of it due to the circumstances of the error.....and you will understand what i mean as i explain further......

when i open sdc a little window opens asking if i want to allow this program to start..... (im sure all you vista guys know this window.).........that window is the problem, it is not skinned properly on the inside.

The default windows picture inside the window is half covered with grey,  i am not sure why, but i am assuming its something that i perhaps have not skinned correctly?  other skins dont have this problem, only mine.  SkOriginals has seen this problem, and told me to post it here, because he has never seen an error like it before.

I am sorry there is no image to show, the reason obviously i cannot show a screenyshot is cause its in the allow or dissallow stage on my pc .

I truly hope someone can help me with this problem........i really cannot submit my skin for the competition with this error still in place........

thanks for everyones help in advance.

kitteh.

You can take a screen shot by hitting the prt scr button on your keyboard then after you get past that point open Microsoft paint and paste it. Just a handy piece of advice I thought I would share wish I could be more helpful unfortunately I'm know skinner....lol

Dont think you can get a screenshot...

Kitty, are you talking about UAC? I have that turned off, which probably explains why I've not seen the error

Erk.

Got a digital camera, Kitty? Might come out a little crappy if you take a shot of your comp screen with it, but I think it'll be clear enough to get a picture into this thread....

...Just a thought

Just enabled UAC to see what is going on. I see what you mean about the image being covered, and my own skins don't do this. Maybe that is coming from a part I haven't skinned yet?

Anyway, I don't know what the answer is    (

today i am thinking about doing a 'eliminate piece by piece" to find the problem.....if that dosent work, ill come back and report........

UAC windows are skinned by UIS2 frames...

for me (with my theme) they show up correctly

looks fine with my WB. I haven't skinned the UIS2 frames yet, so vogliadicane is correct

I have a suggestion, but it may be time consuming. It must be from one of the background images. Colour each one red, one at a time. Eventually you'll find which one is causing the problem.

What Fuzzy is trying to say is: Do you realize how much work goes into skinning a WB? A decent skin will take weeks to build!

Just starting over, without knowing what you are doing wrong is not an option

hemanherecomes It might be an idea to browse around the site and find out who folks are. I think you misunderstood the purpose of this thread.

It may be an idea to start with kitty's website LINK to kittymalone.wincustomize.com you'll see she is one of the best skinners around
