StartMenu helper file not found!

StartMenu helper file not found!

Can not show start menu.

I've recently purchased ObjectDock Plus, and it's worked fine, but all of a sudden, my Start Menu shortcut started giving me this error whenever I tried to use it on ObjectDock. The taskbar and windows key still work, it's just the shortcut on ObjectDock. Any help here?

I keep getting this, first it started happening with 1.90.535u and it's still happening with 1.90.537u (beta). The Start Menu will appear for a second then the message "StartMenu helper file was injected but failed to take effect. Can not show start menu at this time, please try again." I get this until I restart ObjectDock.

EDIT: extra info
Windows XP Professional SP3 (Originally installed with slipstreamed SP2/RyanVM update pack + addon pack)
Computer specs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lunarbunny/Comp

EDIT2: Also, it may have something to do with Windows XP SP3, considering my laptop with SP2 doesn't do it and it seems to have started about the time I upgraded to SP3.

I have the same issue. I'm using the latest version of ObjectDock Plus (bought yesterday) running on Windows XP Pro SP3 with all of the latest updates installed.

I just bought ObjectDock Plus yesterday (1.90 Build 535u) and I'm running XP, SP2. Worked fine for a while and now I am getting the same error you are all getting too. Not very impressed since I just bought it.

Happens both with free and plus on XP SP2 and SP3 with full admin user. It seems to happen when lots of programs 10+ are open and are displayed individually in the dock (not grouped). Could it be a memory issue. I run OD+ with the use all my memory option. How about the rest of you.

I have a HP 2510p laptop with 2G of RAM

I have the "Optimize for memory" option set, still get this very annoying error with ObjectDock (Free version).
My dock contains 27 icons, plus icons of running programs in taskbar.

I'm afraid it looks to be an intermittent bug, at least on my PC. Yesterday it was consistent, but today I'm unable to reproduce it.

It won't help you, but I've got the same problem: bought yesterday, it stopped working after 2 hours.

My system is Win XP SP2 on a brandnew Dell Notebook with 2 GB and OD+. It doesn't seem to be a problem of XP/Vista nor SP2/SP3 nor memory size nor OD/OD+.

Maybe Yahoo Widgets, BitDefender Antivirus, XP Firewall?

How about someone of the Stardocks staff trying to help?

I get this problem too, specs:

Win XP MCE SP3
OD+ Version 1.90a Build 538u
Also using latest builds of RightClick, WindowsFX, ObjectBar, WindowBlinds, CursorFX and one little DesktopX widget. Same problem with or without AV or Firewall running.

It tends to work for a short while, then the StartMenu will move back to its original position but still work and then eventually I get this error message.

Possibly related - the Power switch docklets also only work sometimes.

For anyone suffering this: hitting the Start menu key on the keyboard still works - in case you hadn't worked it out.

I just remembered - and it might be significant - I had to move OD+ and RightClick startup from the normal "Startup" folder to the registry "HKCU / Run" section otherwise it would start them both twice resulting in the configuration dialogs opening on startup. But it was doing the StartMenu thing before I moved them - so probably not connected.
