In case you were wondering where I've been and for those who don't know as I already shared this on IRC...

Thankfully our apartment is OK. No smoke damage. We had to wait until the power was turned back on to re-occupy the premises.
Over the last few days we have been living in Hotels thanks to the Red Cross.
It's good to be back.

kona, glad you're alright. guess the dinosaur made it out too? Fire does suck. When I was a kid our house burned down while we were on vacation. Arson. Lost almost everything we had.

Dinosaur? You do know that I got a new PC about a week ago right?
Actually I didn't grab anything - not even my bicycle. We grabbed the pets - the ones we could find - and left. We came back later and found our other cat thank goodness.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that new PC. Vista, right? Congrats. And I'm glad you all made it out safe, and that you didn't lose anything (except for some sleep).....

Thankfully you are ALIVE! I went through one fire personally and I know how frickin' terrible it is. Scare the crap out of ya! Things can be replaced but you and yours can't.
