Skinners, Artists, Coders, and Testers Needed: Community Suite

Happy Birthday!!

After the success on the Troll Thumping Day Suite some members of the Mother Thumpers are coming together to create the "Happy Birthday Suit(e)".

I envision this suite centered around a DX gadget that counts down to your birthday. On your birthday the gadget will prompt you to download the most recent incarnation of the suite components so for your special day, your desktop will celebrate with you.

At this point we have some components assigned to artists but this is a collaborative project and welcome input and assistance from everyone. Please jump in and help out if you'd like.

Zubaz I tried for ya buddy but not to sure everyone liked the WB (or the clocks) so much judging from what I have seen so far
Let's be honest, they have a particular market; birthdays.  I think a few folks were waiting for the WB to be complete to finish their pieces.  Then we'll see if Island dog can feature it and then . .  we'll wait for the birthdays to roll in 

I think the blind looks good.  I ran it for a week and while it was significantly different from my usual style it was usuable and non-distracting.  I liked it.

I think this one will be a slow burn, not a rocket.  Thanks for all the hard work.  I consider it a success.

I agree not my normal style but once I used it for a while well it is still up on mine now!

No need to upload until we all agree that it's done . .otherwise it's jsut more work for the moderators.

Your image is pointing to a local drive.  YOu need to upload it to a site like imageshack.us or photobucket and then insert the image path here.  How to upload

If the cake concept isn't working, you can try using the frame.png in the graphic pack supplied by theAVMAN

I think that Frame.png might be a bit too big, but I could use LogShutDown.png instead, it's the right sort of shape.

I think you are going down a bad path.  Take a look at the top results here and try to match them: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?search=birthday

Think about color and style.  Try to fit in with what has been done before.

Woo Hoooo .. Got the WB at last ..Thanks Harley ..     

 I can start working on the Sidebar now ...

( Mike cranks the Coffee Machine up ... empties his already overflowing ashtray ... and sits in wonder and amazement at Harley's WB .. then sobs quietly to himself ... when he realises it is purple and he is colour blind ... )

Real skinners only need the color hex.

alibear123 I think you want to try to match the WindowBlind not the icons if you think the Frame.png is too big can you not re-size it to the size you require.

Real skinners only need the color hex.


It was my way of saying it was a great colour ... Joke backfired there, methinks !!  

Incidentally is it just me or is there a problem with the text font in the max/min window text ? I cannot read it ... Just wondering ...

Ok ... Inactive window test looks ok , but active window text is white ... Harley , is it supposed to be like that ?
