Shortcut to Quick Launch
Monday, February 4, 2008 by sphoto | Discussion: DesktopX
Such as: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
What would I use for "username"?

Thanks Zubaz. I would like for anybody to be able to use it, such as in a widget. Could you elaborate please?

Flyouts . . .
Then choose "New Custom "Flyout Menu""
In the secong field, choose "Quick Launch"
If you feel like it . . change the image.
Click OK to close the form and there's your Custom Flyout Docklet.
If you want somethign that looks more like a menu . . .
Then choose "New Shortcut"
In the secong field, choose "Quick Launch"
Check the box labelled "Show folder in a menu"
If you feel like it . . change the image.
Click OK to close the form and there's your menu shorcut

%Username% = the generic for the current user of the session.
Eg: mine would be C:\Documents and Settings\Quentin\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
C:\Documents and Settings\%Username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
so in using %Username% your shortcut will work on every computers using Windows

I am making a popup menu to the Quick Launch folder on the VistaBar Widget that I submitted over the weekend. I thought it would be easier then people having to make a new "Quick" folder. They usually have the shortcuts that they use the most in their Quick Launch. It will clear up space on their taskbars for tasks.

So sorry for being confusing (confused)

You could also create a new shortcut and set it to be a menu.
