But I don't have Vista yet...I will have to get more ram (or something like that) before I can buy it. (

To get icons to apply sometimes you need to change the toolbar icon size in the customize settings in IE6.
[Right click toolbar > Customize.]
Change the size from large to small and back again in the dropdown box. The ones you selected will show up.
This does not apply to IE7
In Vista \ IE7 the icons are a completely different set and rarely included in skins. Not the same set used for XP.
