2 things I need help with SkinStudio

Saturday, January 26, 2008 by promaster12 | Discussion: WindowBlinds

OK so I downloaded a wb theme and decided to edit it.

OK I did edit some parts but I'm stuck on 2 things I want to edit.

1: How to I change this part of the theme -

into something like this - ?

Sorry about all the lines (my graphics card is glitching up and I need to buy a new one.)

2: OK then I changed the length and width of the start menu but after that, the picture was out of frame -

How do I place the picture in frame using SkinStudio?

That's all thanks.

ok, for number 2, you place the image where you want it by editing the "user Picture" content margin.
On the left hand side of skinstudio, select start panel, user pane, user picture.
Then on right hand side, change the "content margins" numbers till it fits.

For the first question, RIGHT click on the part you want to change, ie the white bit you have, and choose "import from file", then chose the directory (windowblind) with the new graphic you want to put there instead.

If you open another windowblind in skinstudio, as well as the one you are working on, (say the windowblind that has the new graphic you want to use) and you can click on that part for the filename.

i think thats clear enough..

any questions, just holla.

OK for the user picture part I opened SkinStudio and clicked "open skin" but there isn't a "start panel" see -

Although I did try "Edit startmenu and taskbar" but I still can't find out how to work it.

As for my first question I don't understand your meaning can you explain it more?

For user pic, Start Menu, Top part, Text tab, adjust left text margin down until pic lines up.

For 1st, XP specific sections, shell style icons and pictures and shell style bars and arrows.

It took awhile to find it but go to the XP specific (L hand side), click on xp specific and scrool down to the Normal section. This should be the right place, but I'm not 100% positive since I do not use SKS6. I'm not too sure about your second question.

You can change the color or use an image but I don't believe it can be clear/transparent.
On the bars and arrows window this part is the pane.

without special shellstyle files you cant change the details text color...its a wb limitation we all live with and dislike.

Best compromise is assign a background color to the panes that works with black. (
