Backgrounds not showing up in list

Thursday, January 17, 2008 by kaham | Discussion: ObjectDock

I am using EasyZip2000 to extract my downloaded backgrounds to c:\program files\stardock\objectdock\backgrounds and they are not showing in the drop down list. Any suggestions?

Tried to find EasyZip2000 to download, so I could see if it was doing anything odd, but I can't find it......... just a few deadend links.

Got a working link?

You might want to try this one... ZipGenius
I've had no trouble with it.

kaham, what backgrounds? All or just those by messiah1? If they're mine, does the name show up in the list and just no preview? If that's the case, it's because of a tag in my ini files.

Some Zip programs unzip to a folder and when you open the folder there's another folder in it which contain the files. I don't know if that helps.

c:\program files\stardock\objectdock\backgrounds

Try unzipping into "My Documents\ObjectDock Library\Backgrounds" OD will find them.

If you do this with any docks by me (WebGizmos) the extra Plus/Minus images will not work. In order for the extra images to work they need to be in the c:/Programs/Stardock/Objectdock/backgrounds folder. I wish they would fix this somehow but I don't see how they can.

Perhaps by eliminating the redundant OD library in My Documents?

Thank you all very much for your advice. I'm not exactly sure what I did, but I fixed it somehow.

There is something wrong -maybe only with non-englisch OS- with those locations. At leats on xp. I get the objectdockzip files extarcted fine - but all the famous library in my documents - and there OD doesn't find them - so or Stardock changes some path in some ini , or only way to go is unzip and copy to programms folder of OD

That would be nice.
