weather docklet causes ObjectDock crash

Thursday, January 3, 2008 by xDeVsFaN1830x | Discussion: ObjectDock

Ive been emailing crash reports when they happen, but im wondering if anyone else is getting a crash when they have the weather docklet running. Its not happening with any consistent frequency, seems to just be when my computer is on for any prolonged amount of time.

It keeps crashing for me also, but I did not know why. I do run the weather docklet all the time. How did you find out the docklet was causing it?

Are you running the basic ObjectDock or ObjectDock Plus? What OS? I run XP Home SP2 32bit and ObjectDock Plus, no problems with the weather docklet at all.

As rustysam asked, how did you determine that it was the weather docklet? Have you added any other docklets to the dock?

It was the only "app docklet" im running. I removed it and i have crashed in weeks. The min i put it back it starts crashing. Im running OD Plus on Vista x64. It was workin fine for a LONG time, then it suddenly started. I formatted a few times and it still happens. It might be something introduced by a windows update, but i don't think ill b able to track it down if thats the case.

I had this problem too. I fixed it by disabling "flyout on mouseover", and enablign "flyout on click" instead - now it works like a charm.

I'm trying to replicate the issue you guys were having. What versions... etc everything that Philly said in #2. I would like to see if I can get this to happen to create a bug report.

We had the exact same problem. Whenever we have a weather dock running OD crashes sometimes every hour.
So we gave up & got rid of our weather dockets & have had NO CRASH for weeks with no weather docklets
Will try the suggestion made by Kapaue and let you know what happens.
We just added one weather docklets & unticked the flyover when mouse goes over and only have fly over on click. So lets just wait & see...

As per my post of jan 11 - we unticked the mouse flyover option and we have not had any crashes of OD since. At this stage then the suggestion by Kapaue seems to be a resolution to our problem. Well done!!!

My problem is when I try to update the docklet and then crash all the application, and that is very disappointing,  I try everything and nothing, the best solution was delete the ..... ""WeatherDocklet.dll"" from C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Docklets

Obviously the docklet don´t works any more, but I want it!!!!!!

My SO is Windows 7 Ultimate x 32 bits
And Object Dock Plus 1.9

Mexico City
Someone already knows the solution

Thanks!!!!
