Is there an easy way to combine 2 destops?

I've got my own hacky but useful little desktops built with multiple parents, groups, and individual objects as appropriate to get everything to behave the way I want. Sometimes I'd like to be able to combine those entire desktops with desktops I download with their multiple related objects.
Barring object or group name conflicts, which most likely wouldn't be a problem or else I could fix it sometimes, is there a way to combine them without exporting each group of related objects and each individual object and then importing the pieces into the other desktop? I'm not seeing it...

There isn't a direct way to cause DesktopX to load and merge two .desktop files. But, if you go to the theme you want some elements of and export an element say the weather object or player object as an object (remember to include the related objects during the export), DesktopX will creat a dxpack file containing the desired object. Then load up your desktop file in DX Builder and select configure. From there you can select important an object and presto the desired object from the other theme will now be imported into your current desktop. I've used this method numerous times for both widgets and objects and it works well. Have fun.

Why not make a widget to do what you do manually....and repeat each time. Probably a stupid question.

I thought of this the other day,because I used to just add the file as a custom file
and then add controls to open it,then something changed and that stopped working.So I
came up with save the top desktop as a gadjet.Then add the gadjet as a custom file
and then create your controls to open it.
P.S. haven't tried it yet but it should work with no nameing problems as both desktops would technically still be separate. I was trying to come up with a way to add
different applications under one controlled environment.
