WB 6 and Issues??

WB 6 and Issues with Programs and Games?? *scratches head*

Friday, December 7, 2007 by AnneMarie | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Okay well its been a few since WB 6 came out.

I LOVE this version and it works great! Stardock has done a great job updating and adding some wonderful tweaks and such with this! I am happy that I had bought WB in time and got the update to WB 6. I do plan on continue using it.. Its great..

That said though I do have some issues. The program WB 6 itself works great. I Have recently noticed that there are issues with some things. For Example If I have WB 6 loaded I can not Run my Game "American McGees" ALICE or City of Heroes.

Also I get an error with my Yahoo Music Engine/Jukebox*whatever you want to call it* when I have WB loaded. Also I have an issue with the new Yahoo Messenger for Vista whenever I have WB loaded.

As far as I can tell I can unload WB, Load whatever problematic program then reload WB.

MY System
Dell XPS 410
2 Gigs of Ram
2.2 ghz Dual Core Processor
over 500 gigs of HD space
an Nvida LE 7300 256 mg video Ram Video Card

and am Running Vista Ultimate...

my Windows Experience Index is 3.2

I am not sure what anyone here at Stardock can do about this. I mainly posted this to give the community a Heads up on the issues I have.

and if it helps I can post my WB info . I will say I am running the most updated WB 6

thanks

Blessings

Anne

Have you tried excluding skinning the programs that are giving issues? Open the windowblinds configuration screen and click on Settings and then Change the look of an app.  Click on Add per application setting and find the exe of a program that is giving you a problem. Select the exe and then put a check mark in Ignore this application and do not skin it.

This should solve the issue. If not please contact [email protected] and link to this forum post.

OH??

Hum no I didn't quite realize that process of prompting WB to ignore the problematic programs..

Let me try that and I will consider contacting Stardock after this if What you suggested Hankers doesn't work

Thank you very much for that advice Hanker I appreciate it..

I am off to see what I can do

w00t! Thank you so much Hankers! That pretty much seemed to do the trick.. Thank you very much for that advice

I am still having a slight issue with Yahoo Music Engine but It doesn't Automatically Crash now and I will definitely keep this process in mind if I have any other issues..

Again thanks Hankers..

Yet another shining example of the great Customer Service Stardock and its great community has!

This is why I am part of this community and the great Staff will keep me here for a time to come

Thanks

exclude all yahoo exes

some earlier versions of yahoo stuff is okay with being skinned - newer no always so.
I think I recall at some point WB was set to auto exclude yahoo, but yahoo kept changing stuff, so that didn't quite work out
