Vista SP!: Possibly Before Xmas??

just downloaded it from Technet and will be installing it this weekend-HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!

The only problems I have run in to have been with Stardock Software. DesktopX is not compatable with SP1. Even on the latest build this week.


just downloaded it from Technet and will be installing it this weekend-HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I learned something new today. If you run UAC with Sp1, Desktop X will run. If you have tweak vista installed you can changed the security level to remove all prompts for elevation from UAC. All seems well so far. I always kept UAC off because of the prompts.

Whatever. As all of us have said before you obviously haven't dived into a newer flavor of Linux. Or perhaps you have and didn't know how to use it.

Or, I have and do as part of my job and still find them lacking in every way except web browsing. Congratulations, Linux has achieved the functionality of my blackberry. Ahem.

PS I've been using the command line longer than you've been alive, but that doesn't mean it isn't a LAME old-school way of interacting with a computer.

Vista SP1 release candidate has been available for a couple of weeks now...see link at #31

The RTM version should be available mid to late January, according to a source at MS.
