ObjectDock wants children!

Saturday, November 24, 2007 by Deamhan Faerie | Discussion: ObjectDock

OD+ v1.9 build 537u.  also submitted this with stardock.helpserve

Vista 64 or 32bit, UAC on or off, or run as admin w/ UAC on: ObjectDock thinks it needs to have everything be a child process.

children

This does cause problems.  I've had OD+ as well as OD+'s other children not respond as well or at all when some other child is doing something.  I've tested a couple of cases launching from OD+ vs. desktop shortcut and it is definately being OD+ child causing OD+ and other children to studder.  The only processes where this doesn't happen are ones that launch something themselves (WoW or IE7 for example) - but they are children until they createprocess and exit.  This doesn't happen on my XP box.

The workaround i've been using for this bug is to have every shortcut setup like this

link: cmd
arguments: "/c start *program*"

and change the icon from command prompt default

little annoying, but it fixes my problem

I have noticed this before myself. I will let the developers know.

Thanks
