I hope all of our US folks enjoy a day of food, drink, friends and family... oh and football if that's your thing
To all of our overseas friends, I hope everything in your lives is going well and that you have much to be thankful for. Even though today isn't necessarily a holiday for you, I hope it still finds you all well.
I know I've been blessed this year with many many wonderful things; friends, family, community and job. It's without a doubt been one of my best years so far. And I have you all in large part to thank for that!
So sit back, relax, eat, drink and be merry! We'll be back on Monday with our regular hijinx

I went into the emergency room with a Spontaneous Pneumothorax (the Doctor's way of saying collapsed lung) on November 5 at 6:30 P.M. Hardly before I knew what was happening I had a chest tube (which didn't work), and a week later surgery to repair the problem. Basically I spent two weeks in the hospital and am now home recuperating. The moral of the story????? I am so thankful to be in a country where I could get the treatment needed and save my life. I am so thankful that my friends and family were right there with me the entire time with fantastic support and assistance. I certainly don't want any pity from anyone, as these types of things happen to good people everyday. But while lying in that hospital bed Thanksgiving took on a whole new meaning. I hope I never take for granted again the important things in life. Spirituality, Family, Friends, Freedom. I am thankful that I was given the time to reflect upon how precious each of these is.
So again, Happy Thanksgiving to all and may we never take for granted just how good we have it.
