when does a community skin become a community skin when the community is not involved? Where was the post to inivite skinners for harmoney and whitefire2?
there wasnt a post, it was created by maxstyles crew (and maybe a secret select few from the community)
and yet, suddenly its a community skin?
to me, a community skin is when someone posts they want to make a community skin, and people are allowed to volunteer their services to the skin. The WHOLE community knows about it....(unless they live under a rock) its not a secret and suddenly released as community skin.
yet again i ask, why is maxstyles skins being promoted as community skins when its clear that they are not.
This isnt a flame against Maxstyles.....I just am totally confused.........

Well one thing's for certain this post was never about me. Although there was definately some community involvement, I hope you two will agree that you sometimes disagree, and give one another the benefit at least of good intentions, even though complete agreement cannot be reached right now. you know what i think,, hahah i think masters should be more specific about their terminology on this site (ie.. my take on what Vstyler and a few others believe is that "Community" means a "SELECT FEW OF THE COMMUNITY" when deciphered by a selfish person!)
and its not even a matter of being selfish its common sense really.
when i hear the word community, it makes me think about ALL the people around me. so it should be the same when in referrance to making a COMMUNITY skin. it just seems to me that some people are afraid of putting skins in other peoples hands because they might screw it up and stuff
also you shouldnt use the word community if its not gonna involve the whole community because a "community" is a "whole" not a "some" if its only for choice skinners than say "we will be selecting a few out of all requests" OR make it so that invitations can be sent to people you want to have skin on the project

I personally think that Harmony was a community skin, but didn't have the correct "forum advertising" to get the word out, where more skins for programs could have been made for it.
All community skins should have a large effort to get as many as possible working together to make a nice, massive suite.

As a side note... If you have time to browse thru my WhireFire2 WB comments sections you will realize that on Post #52 Mr. PuterDudeJim asked my permission right there and then to upload his DXTheme. There was no discussion between us prior to that post. I believe he made the DXTheme out of his own afford and out of love for skinning and sharing with the community. So where does that say we pre-select anybody to produce any part of the community skin. And I never ask anybody from WC to label my whitefire2 WB little suite to become community suite.
What did I do wrong here? From what I see here I am labeled "one of the bad guy" just because I upload my work here to share with everyone? And anybody who doing the awesome part in support of my work are also consider a bad contributer of some soft of evil skim ?
If that so...then where will that lead us?

im not talking about you basj.... i was referrancing on the stuff said above about the word community i definitley see two sides of this!
i see people who need clarification to the teeth and people who are not so clear as to what they mean... hence we have issues about the terminology of Community

I'm just curious here, but, if each single component of a blind were made by a different member, how many members could be involved? Isn't there still a limit there? I mean even if it were done that way there would still be a limit which means someone is going to get left out....am I right here or am I missing something? RAD

I'm sure the author of those articles meant that this community, the WC community, added some great elements to those two blinds. Harmony was all over the What are you working on thread. Did john say, hey, i need somebody to do this or that? No, but people contacted him and things got done. Those people are the community are they not.
