My missing daughter, found!

Daughter has been missing 32 years

This may not interest most but this is a true story. I have been searching for my missing daughter for 32 years. She was parentally kidnapped by her father, my boyfriend back in 1975. I have found her and she is healthy, married and living in Delaware. I live in Florida but that doesn't stop us from phone calls and emails. You just can't imagine what it's like to know your child is out there, get no help from the system, no help but hope when a T.V. show calls and acts like they are interested in doing a story only to never hear anything. That happened years ago. I finally found her after posting a letter to the Military website. Someone who knew my boyfriend and I at the time contacted me and told me where to look. He wanted no involvement directly but did point me in the right direction. Now after looking for 32 years we are in contact with one another. This is great and having the chance to talk and share information is wonderful. She knew information about me but very little was shared with her. She said she knew the family put me through hell and wouldn't give her much info during the years but had hoped I would find her someday. She now knows she has a half sister and brother, I have been blessed with two grandkids from her and she knows I have a grandchild with my other daughter. It is a new day, new year, new chapter in my life. If you have ever had a life like mine you would write a book, as many of my friends have told me to do. I however like my happy life and don't think I would like to put all my life in a book to be looked at. I would like to tell everyone that if you think you need to find someone to set the record straight or just fix a hole in your life, don't give up, keep trying. I did and now my life is going in another direction again and this time I have more to look forward too. Life is fun and now even a new day makes me smile knowing I can call or email her and say "Hi" I am thinking of you today. It's just great.

I am extremely happy for you and your daughter. It's always heart warming to hear stories with an all's well that ends well finish and families being reunited, keeping in touch after years of separation. I am pleased for your news and the great outcome for you and your family, it's gold.

Although the circumstance for my wife and I were/are different, we've recently & happily been brought back into contact with our daughter after she ran away from home a couple of years ago. It's not quite the same thing as 30 something years, but the outcome is joyous and one we had always been hoping for. We've had a very happy get together and we chat regularly with Tanka (nickname) on the phone, so it's all good and getting better all the time. So yeah, we have 'some' idea of what it might have been like for you, and hope it all goes as well for you and your daughter as it is for us and ours.

I am so thrilled for you and understand fully what you have been through. I went through a messy split in 1986 and my ex wife twisted the kids and I have not seen my three sons for twenty odd years now...no contact or anything. I guess what upsets me most is regardless of how we felt about each other I would never have done the same to her. I still accord her the gratitude of being their mother and the respect that goes with it. I do not understand why she needed to act so cruelly and....contrary to the family courts....men have just as much of an attachment and need for their children as women do. You have given some great news here!
