WB6 Icon Problems

Wednesday, October 17, 2007 by Astyanax | Discussion: WindowBlinds

So the recent update fixed the problem with System Tray icons, but there are still other issues tied to the Titlebar heigh being over "23".
For instance here is explorer with Optix:

The same thing goes for the "Save As" Window it seems(as noticed when saving that image), the favorite links pane in the Save As window also had larger icons. Oddly enough IE7 does not have this issue.

Whoops, should have included this bit too;
After opening the skin in SKS6 and changing the BMP titlebar height to 23 all problems went away. But I also noticed something else, take a look at the Back/Foward buttons on each image, after setting the top frame height to 23 they seem different....like it actually should look, it seems like the first image is less transparent giving it a darker look?

I forgot to mention this is 64 bit Vista Ultimate, here is the system info:

Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of 5.4
Your Windows Graphics Experience score is 5.9

Ive tried other skins, maybe its specific to ones with a higher titlebar height? Molten doesn't have this issue and its top frame height is 25 rather than Optix's 29...

EDIT: I've tried a few skins, so far the ones that do have the Icon/Nav Bar issue are StingRay, Camaro and Optix. Skins that don't have the issue are Molten, Classic, Diamond and Leo.

Anyone have any idea whats wrong?
I'm wondering if Stardocks tricking x64 into not resizing the system tray icons just needs to be applied to the nav bar/save as dialog? Or possibly if the titlbar height is a certain height it messes it up?

Please don't tell me I went thru the trouble of taking these shots with detailed descriptions of the problems so no one would even bother to look at it, let alone respond.

Last time I sent support an email I was waiting a week, within that week I posted on the forums and the problem was fixed. Once the problem was fixed I then got an email from support saying that they fixed it. (activation issues - so in about a week I got my activation count reset twice due to lack of communication)

OK ..  so wait here. But no reason to complain about no action.
