XP hangs after login & WB6 upgrade

I just upgraded to WB6 but my system seems to hang up after i log in. I cannot do much of anything so I cannot get you the specific system info you all will ask for. I am running XP SP2 with all recent updates.
I was able after a time of waiting to see the task manager and that wbconfig was taking up a lot of CPU usage. I have hard rebooted a couple of times to no avail.
Any suggestions to help?

Wbconfig should not be running on reboot apart from the very first time.
Hold down ctrl until the desktop appears after logging in.
